The Cinta Senese is the most important swine race in Tuscany and one of the best in Italy, perhaps the most ancient one. It is so called for a broad white belt (the "cinta") running over its bright black coat.
In the past, it was going to die out because they preferred the much more productive swine race.
Lately, thanks to the quality of its meats, it has been introduced again in some Tuscan farms like ours.
